Sciatica

It is caused in the spinal cord due to swelling of nerves and dislocation which we treat.

Conventional treatment for sciatica includes pain medication, physical therapy, and sometimes surgery. However, there are also alternative approaches, such as Ayurveda, that can be effective in managing the condition.

Sciatica is a common condition that affects the sciatic nerve, which is the largest nerve in the body. It is responsible for providing sensation and movement to the lower body, including the legs and feet. Sciatica is characterized by pain, numbness, and tingling that radiates from the lower back and down the legs. It can be debilitating and interfere with daily activities, such as walking and sitting.

There are several causes of sciatica, including a herniated disc, spinal stenosis, and piriformis syndrome. A herniated disc occurs when the cushioning between the vertebrae becomes damaged, causing the inner material to leak out and press against the nerve.

Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal canal that can compress the nerve. Piriformis syndrome is a condition where the piriformis muscle, located in the buttocks, becomes tight and irritates the sciatic nerve.

Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system of medicine, focuses on maintaining balance in the body and mind through natural remedies and lifestyle changes.

It views sciatica as a result of an imbalance in the vata dosha, which governs movement and circulation in the body. Imbalances in the vata dosha can lead to stiffness and inflammation in the lower back and legs.
